Biography
Formed in Seoul in 2003, Hollow Jan helped establish Korea’s screamo and emotional post-hardcore sound. Their music pairs the long arcs and atmosphere of post-rock with heavy dynamics, screamed vocals and progressive structures.
Rough Draft in Progress (2006) won Best Rock Album at the 2008 Korean Music Awards. In 2015, Day Off (2014) was nominated for Best Rock Album and “Day 3: The Day After” for Best Rock Song. Confusion (2023) was nominated for Best Metal & Hardcore Album in 2024.
In August 2026, Hollow Jan returned to Pentaport Rock Festival and made their European debut on the four-date Eastern Shadow Tour 2026 in France, including Motocultor Festival. European booking enquiries: EOW.
Formé à Séoul en 2003, Hollow Jan a contribué à poser les bases du screamo et du post-hardcore émotionnel en Corée. Sa musique associe les longues progressions du post-rock à des guitares puissantes, un chant hurlé et des structures progressives.
Rough Draft in Progress (2006) a remporté le prix du meilleur album rock aux Korean Music Awards 2008. En 2015, Day Off (2014) a été nommé pour le meilleur album rock, et « Day 3: The Day After » pour la meilleure chanson rock. Confusion (2023) a été nommé pour le meilleur album metal et hardcore en 2024.
